WHITE ROCK MARATHON

On December 11, 2005 I competed in the Dallas White Rock Marathon in Dallas, Texas. This was my 5th marathon and my first time to run this particular race. I trained for 18 weeks with Todd Doles. We had a good training program but I pushed us too hard trying to achieve a 3:30 time and injured us both. Three weeks before the race we came down with IT band trouble and were forced to stop running until the race. Race day morning I awoke sick and the day did not get any better. At the 3 mile mark, I began throwing up and again at the 7 mile mark. Todd Doles was attempting his very first race and was forced to go it alone. He finished in a great time of 4 hours and 9 minutes. I managed to make it across the finish line in 4 hours and 30 minutes. We are again training for '06 and plan to train smarter.
