Exploring the Gulf South Regional Mountain Bike Series is my new adventure. This is the premier mountain bike races, to determine the Regional Champion for Mississippi and Louisiana.
Run
You may ask what “Run With Reason” means? We all do things for a reason. I began running because a marathon was about the only activity I hadn’t experienced before the age of 40. I then added 100 mile bike rides and triathlons. I needed to run, bike or swim for self fulfillment.
Bike
Over the last 4 months long distance cycling has been the focus. Rouge Roubaix was a 127 mile true spring classic bike race that covers the good, the bad, and the ugly of the Feliciana’s. The race starts in St. Francisville, LA and travels north and west through the back roads of West Feliciana Parish and Wilkinson County, Mississippi. We encountered a constantly rolling terrain, and a few climbs that tested all racers. The road surfaces varied greatly. We encountered chip and seal, sandy gravel, smooth as glass asphalt, and some roads that were just plain bad. This race was a classic test of man and his machine vs. the terrain and elements.
Triathlon
Tri’s have been postponed due to the closing of the natatorium. Changing age groups in 2023 will restart my race for the Xterra World Champions in France next year.
